Denise Meyers and Michael Witt (the DMW in DMW Designs!) combine their wildly diverse backgrounds and unique skill sets to create luxury handcrafted itemsfor your home and wardrobe, crafting bread knife and board sets from exotic and locally sourced hardwoods, one-of-akind handbags and evening bags, gourd art, and bespoke squirrel picnic tables!

As the top selling gourd artist in the nation with pieces ranging from $10,000 to $25,000, Denise has shown in galleries and museums around the country. Her work has been featured in COWBOYS AND INDIANS, SOUTHWEST ART, ART OF THE WEST and WILDLIFE ART Magazine, and a segment on her work was featured on HGTV’S THE CAROL DUVALL SHOW.

Her short film, THE DARK OF NIGHT, directed by Robin Wright and starring Sam Rockwell and Leslie Bibb had it’s red carpet world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017. She is the recepient of a Sloan Foundation Development Grant for her work on LUCKY 13, a feature screenplay about the Women’s Air Force Service Pilots.

A Master Craftsman Photographer with studios in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Austin, Texas, Michael was the staff photographer for Farm Aid in 1985 and 1986, traveling extensively with Neil Young, Willie Nelson and John Mellenkamp. His commerical accounts included Dell Computers and Domino’s Pizza. He also photographed former First Lady, Laura Bush, and Texas Governor, Ann Richards.

Since relocating to North Carolina in 2006, Michael has worked as a whitewater raft guide, a ski instructor, a glass artist and owned his own mobile RV repair service with Denise.

Wood has always been his passion and after retiring in 2022 (again!), he went back to his wood studio full time.
